splashes

there are a lot of splashing fruit&veg pictures around, but they are always fun to make, because the results are somewhat unpredictable. I like taking pictures of smoke for exactly the same reason.

pomegranate

it's difficult to guess what the inside of it will be like once you opened it, but this one proved to be good choice - nice-looking, photogenic, and apparently tasty. I didn't try it - I don't like pomegranate, bought it as a prop :)

Nashi pears (apparently)

Bought those today in Chinese supermarket on Mill road. Lady behind the counter told me that they are thought to be good for lungs. That's news to me, but I like the crunch of them anyways. And the look of them too.

In wikipedia I found that I those round ones are called "Nashi" pears, and that the ones that are more, well, pear-shaped, are called "Ya".

I am not great fan of them, I do eat them but I can just as happily eat something else. The colors are beautiful though, especially on black

apple day

was spraying some water on a cotton shirt (to avoid ironing, you know), and sprayed some on this apple. I do realize it's not too original (to put it mildly) - there are millions of wet apple pics out there, bu I guess I just like waterdrops

chinese pears

apparently, more'n one type of fruit is called "chinese pears", this one is Ya pear, or "Duck pear", because of the shape.

They look beautiiful when freshly out of packaging, but bruise and darken amazingly easily

clementines

when I was a kid, I thought there's nothing more beautiful than a mandarin that still has a branch and a little leaf attached. or an apple with the same features, but not so much, because there were more apples around than mandarins.

oh, and also seed beads, but that's a different category, I guess :)
